SingFX for Android · Last updated: November 8, 2026
SingFX is a free, open-source karaoke app. It does not collect, store or share any personal data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. All audio processing happens on your phone.
When you turn on Live FX, Android asks you to allow screen capture. SingFX uses this permission only for audio playback capture. It processes the sound other apps are playing (key change, vocal remover, EQ) and plays it back right away. The audio is never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere, and SingFX never captures your screen image. Live FX stops when you tap Stop, and Android shows a status-bar icon while it runs.
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| Record audio / screen capture | Required by Android for Live FX to process other apps' audio. Your microphone is never used. |
| Music and video access | Shows songs and videos stored on your phone in the Library tab. |
| Display over other apps | The floating bubble with the key and EQ controls. |
| Accessibility service ("SingFX audio output", optional) | Gives SingFX its own audio channel, so the original sound is muted while you hear the processed version. While Live FX is on, it also turns the volume buttons into karaoke volume buttons. It only reacts to the volume up/down buttons, does not read screen content or what you type, and collects nothing. |
| Notifications | The "Live FX is on" and media playback notifications. |
| Internet | YouTube search and playback in the YouTube tab, the built-in web browser, and checking GitHub for app updates. |
Your effect settings (key, EQ, vocal remover, volume) are saved in the app's private storage on your phone so they persist between sessions. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
SingFX collects no data from anyone, including children.
